Bands: Rolling Stones; Etta James
Venue: Capitol Theatre, Passaic NJ
Date: June 14, 1978
Quality: Uncirculated program; Cover
art.
Comments: The Stones required us to use
their cover art, so I did the back cover, backwards. Whoever
identified the most Stones album titles depicted in this
“Back Cover Cultural Puzzle” won two passes to an
upcoming show. If you look closely, you’ll see the first
hint of my new “manual moiré” style of line
drawing. Ticket courtesy of Tim Buckley, a member of my
All-Star follow spot crew and a truly great landscape
photographer artistically descended from Ansel Adams. Tim and I
met in the heydey of the Stony Brook music scene and continued
to work lights together until he began an odyssey that
eventually brought him to Boise, Idaho. Did you notice the
price of the ticket? The Capitol was a truly great concert
hall.
This program is 16 pages including 7
pages with 9 photos of the band (and 11 ads!)
