Comments: Light and line. For those of
you who don’t know, a carbon arc follow spot burns at
about 5700°K, which is the same color temperature as the
sun. The light of an ungelled carbon arc, in the artificial
environment of the theatre, makes a sickly blue brightness that
belies the warmth we feel from the sun. Or is it the other way
around?
