Bands: New Riders of the Purple Sage;
Charlie Daniels Band / Jerry Garcia Band
Venue: Capitol Theatre, Passaic NJ
Date: October 31, 1975 / November 1,
1975
Quality: Uncirculated program; Cover
art and other drawings exist as shown.
Comments: I toured regionally with
Jerry Garcia and the New Riders while in partnership with
Harold Klein in City Lights. Garcia with banjo is no doubt a
reference to Old And In The Way. While Jerry bears a passing
resemblance to himself, the fellow playing the fiddle bears no
resemblance to the fellow who actually played the fiddle.
I'm not sure anyone appreciated my cute
little nrps, but I was always amazed by Marmaduke’s
ability to sniff out my bottle of Turkey. Now, after all these
years, I think maybe it has something to do with “That
Debbie”.
The accompanying sketch (above) is a
doodle that I did with a New Riders record album in mind.
“Nrps Gamboling” at left appears inside the program
along with full-page articles and photos of each of the three
bands. Tom Paxton was advertised but does not appear in the
program.
